Light Matters Gallery

I’ve been working on something new: the Light Matters Gallery!

The gallery contains a selection of photos that I have taken on various analogue cameras and films. There are several collections based loosely on subject themes. Details of the camera and film used are below each photo, for those who are interested in such things. I’d love to hear your thoughts on the gallery, so feel free to write a comment below this post or get in touch through the contact form.

The collections

Built Things

Things that are constructed by people, or are found in urban or suburban locations. Buildings, bridges, streets, lanes, etc. What it says on the tin, basically.

Living Things

Things that grow, or things that once grew, or things that can be found in the country. There are photos from occasional journeys through the South Coast and Southern Highlands of New South Wales, trips to Canberra, and even walks through urban locations. Sydney is a fairly green city but it can still be surprising to notice the things that grow amidst the concrete.

Little Things

Small and interesting details of larger things. This is one of my favourite kinds of photography because it blurs the line between realism and the abstract simply by showing something normal in an abnormal way.

Benches

When I was putting together the gallery, I noticed I have taken a strangely large number of photos of benches, so I thought it might be fun to make a collection. I don’t even particularly like benches, if I’m honest, but they do tend to turn up in the nice places where people want to stay a while.

Prints

I’m thinking about selling prints of some of my images. If you would be interested in buying a print of any of the images in the Gallery, or any of the other images on my Instagram, let me know via a comment below or reach out via the contact form. It might take me a while to set it up, but I’d love to hear if you’re interested.
